Restored in 2018 in cooperation with the Perú Ministry of Culture, The Wind of Ayahuasca (El viento del ayahuasca, 1983) was the first film to offer an authentic and honest depiction of an ayahuasca healing ceremony.<br/><br/>In Iquitos, gateway to the Peruvian Amazon, Nexy (Silvia Chávez) lives on the margins, sometimes as a sex worker, haunted by the memories and folklore of her rural childhood. She meets Miguel (Johnny Palacios) a sociologist visiting from Lima, studying the spiritual traditions and socioeconomic disparities of the region. Miguel encourages Nexy to consult a curandero (Melitón Delgado), who suggests she participate in a healing ceremony. Together, they travel into the jungle, seeking to deepen the healing in a natural environment. When Nexy vanishes, both Miguel and Melitón seek guidance from ayahuasca, and experience profound revelations while in the embrace of the medicine.<br/><br/>In depicting ayahuasca-induced visions, filmmaker Nora de Izcue avoided the American tropes of frantic psychedelic visual effects, and instead depicts the spiritual journeys as a series of elegantly composed tableaus, through which the camera often glides on a waterborne platform. These moments of detachment from the “reality” of the narrative enfold the viewer in poignant and often profound meditative states. <br/><br/>Melitón Delgado, who portrays the shaman in the film, was an actual ayahuasquero, and served as technical consultant on the film, with his mother Alicia Vda. de Delgado.<br/><br/>The Wind of Ayahuasca is also noteworthy as the first Peruvian feature by a woman director. The Wind of Ayahuasca was restored in 2K from an English-subtitled 35mm print.

Sometimes you look for grand things and the little all of a sudden pop into your eyes when least expected. The actual tree was in no interesting area but the very shape struck me by lightning. I took a picture and decided to do it only now (in summer). Live sketching can be overrated. It so happened that I do not have some pencils, paper and a camping chair at hand. Furthermore, I regularly see so many motifs that I cannot draw all at the very spot. From the moment I took this picture I planned to do this anyway, live or not.<br/><br/>Encapsulated<br/><br/>The last time I visited this beautiful little village was in Spring when I drew my first graphite pencil drawing ‘Kethel – 22-04-19’. Unfortunately Kethel has been completely surrounded by apartment buildings. The crazy thing is that first I could not find it at all. I had to climb the roof of the local supermarket in order to spot the top of its bell tower. Then I saw it was completely encapsulated by modern architecture. The village has managed to keep its original character though. Now looks like an open-air museum that is cherished like a dear gem.<br/><br/>Roundism<br/><br/>I tried to capture the flow of the flowering tree and of course in my roundish style. I thought of a couple of recent landscapes I did in that style. Beek – 11-06-19 was the last. Finally I feel this one hits the right spot. Is more profoundly roundism and it expresses exactly what I tried to convey. That was a rhythym of broken curves, thick and thin. We went down to watch the cup myself to see what this mediaeval madness has to offer.

The Purgatorians is an RPG in very early development. It is highly ambitious for my first project but I am striving for perfection with it.<br/><br/>It will be a very story heavy game with some very dark storylines. This will give some lore of the world I am building.<br/><br/>This intro takes place 10 years before the start of the game. It starts off all happy and light, but do not be lulled into a false sense of security. Something does kick off.<br/><br/>There are four games planned. Each one will follow on from the last. There are also four spin offs planned. These will follow the villains perspective of the story, giving more insights to the plot. They will share the same map but have some different dungeons and Cities to explore.<br/><br/>Do not worry though. I am also planning on either releasing audio dramas or compiling all the cutscenes together before the next main game releases so you can jump straight in and know the whole story without playing previous games.<br/><br/>It will be fully voice acted. paid actors will take the place of main and supporting cast members. The realistic sounding AI will be voicing the NPCs that do not have anything to do with the plot at all.<br/><br/>This was originally going to be an audio drama back in 2015 however things occurred in real life that forced me off the project and had no access to files, scripts or cast information anymore. It is fully voice acted with the then cast. The cast will change for the actual game unless they get in touch with me to reprise their roles. I offer my biggest apologies to them for leaving them in the dark like that.
