The outrageous project, built by Chad Clark and Mike Monter of Millersburg, Ohio was originally meant to be something very different. âMike and I were at our local county fair, I mentioned it would be really cool to build a turbine-powered four-wheel drive pulling truck,â Chad explained. But the auction description had misrepresented the engine as a turbo shaft engine. âI went home that night, found an engine online and bought it but didnât realise it was not turboshaft, it was turbojet only,â Chad remembers. They ended up having to use a much lighter vehicle instead of the original truck. âWe live in the Amish capital of the world so we figured an Amish buggy would be perfect,â Chad said. Co-creator Mike Monter told Future Studios Cars: âHe called me up, said weâre not doing a pulling truck anymore, weâre doing an Amish buggy â seemed natural.â The build and modifications cost around $30,000 and took roughly 700 hours of labour to complete: âMany all-nighters,â Chad said. When out in public, people struggle to believe the bizarre creation actually works. âWhen people see the Thunder Buggy they canât believe their eyes and the first question is, does it really move? Yes it does,â explained Chad. Traditionally, these buggies would have been moved by horses so this particular one is far from conventional. âThe buggy is not designed to take 100 feet of electrical wiring, fuel tanks and a jet engine,â Chad admitted. With a top speed of 65 miles per hour before the wheels start shaking, this exhibition-only vehicle was not built for speed: âItâs a really simple engine design, itâs some pretty awesome engineering from back in the 40s,â explained Chad.")

Five weeks into his studies, Connor was out with friends when he fell four metres from a platform and landed on his head.<br/><br/>Connor was unconscious and rushed to hospital where he spent three and a half weeks in a coma. When Connor became conscious he was non-verbal and unable to walk and spent nine months in rehabilitation. Connor was not able to leave Spain until May 2021 and continued his rehabilitation in the UK.<br/><br/>Less than four years on, Connor is walking and talking again and taking part in the London Marathon this weekend alongside his dad, Chris, 57.")

_peel-p50-the-world39s-smallest-car.webp "MEASURING in at just 100cm tall - and 99cm wide - the Peel P50 is reported the worldâs smallest car to ever go into production. The three-wheeled microcar was originally made from 1962 to 1965 by the Peel Engineering Company and was listed in the 2010 Guinness World Records as the smallest production car ever made, with a weight of just 59 kilograms. Of the 50 P50s ever produced, only 27 are still known to exist today. Canadian, Greg, is one of the owners of these rare cars, and he told Future Studios Cars: âThe P50 came out of the Isle of Man, basically the concept was a little car that you can use in the cityâ. With its DKW 49cc engine, the P50 has a top speed of 37mph and 4.2 horsepower. âItâs a one-seater with one headlight - I also love how it has three wheels, the back wheel is the one that is driving it with a chain from a little moped engine,â Greg said. With its uniquely small size, the P50 is not the most practical car to use. âThereâs no reverse because you have to get out of the car and go around to the reversing handle, pick up the car and turn it around then get back in,â explained Greg. Although this is undoubtedly a small car, it has a big history. Greg said: âThere was a Russian freighter that came into the port of Vancouver, they used it to drive around their huge freighter on the deck but then the refrigerator broke so when they came back, they traded this car in on a refrigeratorâ. Today, these cars are incredibly difficult to come by and are incredibly expensive - in 2016, a P50 was sold at auction for over $176,000.")
