He granted them protection, refusing to hand them over to their Meccan persecutors.<br/><br/>This event underscores the significance of seeking refuge in times of persecution and the importance of religious tolerance. It also highlights the early diplomatic relations between Muslims and Christians, as Negus' protection of the Muslim refugees demonstrates compassion and respect for religious differences.
